TheNerdyBox

Gaming outside the box.

We build and run game servers for communities that want one done properly — tuned, modded, private if you need it, and looked after by people who actually enjoy this part. Bring a group, or find one here.

Bring your community

Any title we can host

Got a group and nowhere good to put it? We’ll build the server, run it, and keep it that way — modded, private, or wide open.

What we do

Built by people who play, run by people who build

Most hosting hands you a panel and disappears. We’d rather build the thing your community needs and keep improving it.

01

Custom server builds

Mod stacks, plugins, tuned configs, whitelists. You describe how your group plays; we build the server around it instead of handing you a control panel and wishing you luck.

02

Private hosting

Your own instance, your own rules, nobody else on it. Locked down for a friend group or opened up when you're ready to grow.

03

Development

Discord bots, status pages, automation, whatever the community actually needs. We write the tooling ourselves — the live counts on this page are ours.

04

Room to scale

Start with one server for eight people. Add titles, add slots, add instances. Nothing has to be torn down and rebuilt to get bigger.

In development

A directory for communities we don’t host

Good groups are scattered across Discords and servers nobody can find. We’re building a directory that covers them too — rented, self-hosted, or somewhere else entirely. You don’t have to be on our hardware to be listed.

Discovery

We go looking

Automatic discovery of public game servers and open Discords, so the directory fills itself instead of waiting on submissions.

Ownership

Claim your listing

Run a community already? Claim it, correct it, and control what it says — description, rules, links, invite.

Reach

Feature it

Push your community in front of people actively looking for a group in your game, instead of hoping they find your Discord.

Anywhere

Not just ours

Hosted by us, rented from someone else, or running on a machine under your desk — the directory doesn’t care where it lives.

In development

Submissions and claiming aren’t open yet. If you run a community and want in early, the Discord is the place to say so.

Before you ask

The questions everyone asks first

How do I join one of these servers?

Every community listed on this site shows its connect address. Copy it into the game's direct-connect or server-browser field and you're in. If a community is whitelisted, its page says so and points you at the Discord to ask.

Can you host a game that isn't listed here?

Yes — that's most of what we do. Tell us the game and how your group plays, and we build the server around that rather than handing you a blank control panel.

Do you run private servers for a single group?

Yes. Your own instance, whitelisted to the people you choose, nobody else on it. It can be opened up later if the group grows — nothing has to be torn down and rebuilt.

Do you support mods and plugins?

Yes. Mod stacks, plugins, tuned configs and whitelists are the normal case, not an upsell. If a modpack needs specific settings to behave, that's the part we enjoy.

My community is hosted somewhere else. Can it still be listed?

That's the point of the directory we're building. Rented from another host, self-hosted, or running somewhere else entirely — you don't have to be on our infrastructure to be listed.

Are the player counts on this site real?

Yes. They're read from the servers themselves every few seconds, not typed in by hand. The same data is available as public JSON at /api/status if you'd rather check it yourself.

Games are better with the right people

That’s the whole point. We host servers so scattered players stop bouncing between dead lobbies and end up somewhere worth staying. Come find a group, or bring yours.
